2 FOs !

That's right - 2 FOs over the weekend. At long last, the Widdershins are off the needles & actually they are relatively easy to knit if I just spend some time on them - finished the leg of the 2nd sock within a day - they have turned out gorgeous (except for a slight error so hoping no one has spotted it) .....

I use the Knittery 4ply Merino Cashmere in Orchid & they were knitted with 3mm bamboo dpns - this yarn is slightly thicker than the 4ply merino & therefore I had to use bigger needles. The yarn is absolutely gorgeous - soft & so comfortable on the feet & they fitted me perfectly. I really like this yarn & will definitely use it again.

If you are still looking for the error on my socks, don't look anymore as I will let you on the secret - the sock on the left has the twisted cable starting immediately after the heel while the sock on the right did not - I knitted the right sock 1st & forgot that I made the change in the pattern as I thought it was not necessary for the cable to start so soon after the heel BUT that was a long time ago, so I forgot all about it & also did not check the sock. Well, I only notice it when I was weaving in the ends so did not want to rip it back - so hoping that no one will notice !

The 2nd FO .....

..... the Elbac scarf is also off the needles - it is also gorgeous & I love the pattern - it's definitely the best pattern that I have used for a scarf. However, the width of the scarf had turned out to be smaller than expected - 10cm only - this is because the yarn (Rowan Calmer) that I used is quite stretchy & my tension is tighter when I was knitting the cables - anyway, the scarf still turned out nice & I really love it but will have to give it away next month so I can still admire it for a while!

It has been a productive weekend for me as the weather was wet & wild making it a perfect knitting weather weekend - just sitting by the TV, watching dramas, sipping Chai tea, nibbling on Tim Tams & of course, KNITTING !!!!

The socks look absolutely beautiful. The Orchid colours are perfectly right for the pattern of the socks. I couldn't see any errors!! This just makes them as valuable as a Persian rug: they always have a deliberate mistake!!!
Your weekend sounds knittingly great!! It has been warm and sunny here, not knitting weather at all!!!

Very, very beautiful FOs! The socks look absolutely awesome, especially in this gorgeous colourway that you've been using - and don't worry, no one sees the error you made, they're perfect the way they are!
And the Elbac scarf is so fantastic as well, what a great pattern and I so adore the colourway you've been using for it too! This is a "Must Knit" for me as well as soon as the colder days are to arrive - thanks for the inspiration and the link!

You have completed such lovely projects. Those socks look so comfy and pretty. The scarf is amazing and I happen to prefer a narrow scarf. Calmer is wonderful yarn and will feel so nice on. I'm glad your challenging weather is working out quite well for you.

Wasn't it just the most perfect weather for knitting. It didn't even bother me that my washing was out on the line (*shock horro* ;) ) as I was more than content being snug up inside with my knitting :) Beautiful beautiful FOs :)

Hi Ann! Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. Looks like you've been busy as well. I might have to make one of those cardigans - very pretty! Love the aquamarine color.

One question: What are Tim Tams?

Beaytful socks and scarf. I personally think that any so called mistakes are deliberate and just proof that they are handknit...

Those socks look gorgeous, the colours are really lovely and show off the pattern beautifully. I love the scarf too despite my loathing of calmer. It looks comfy.
