My 1st Sock Class

I did not attend a sock knitting class but was invited to teach a class. ME - teach sock knitting??

Helen & I were invited by a community library to teach a Toe-Up Sock Class & we did in 3 sessions for 10 new sock knitters. The class went well & by the last session, everyone had 1 or a pair of socks knitted up. I was so proud of all of them as they picked up the short row shaping technique up really fast & were on their way knitting round on 5 dpns - most of them had never knitted with 5 needles! Do drop by at Helen's blog for pictures of the class & the knitted socks as I forgot to bring my camera.

The Mock Wave Cable Socks are off the needles ....

Love the pattern - it was an easy pattern to knit & it looks so nice & the toe-up method with the heel & slip stitch gusset really finished up the socks so well. Thanks to Wendy for the instructions! Now to wrap them up & get them ready for the birthday. I think I have to knit another pair of this pattern for myself but there's so many nice patterns out there ......

If any of my Australian knitting blogfriends has been eyeing Lorna Laces yarn, do drop by Knitting Inspirations & check on the limited stock available as Helen has recently brought some in from the USA. As Lorna Laces are not available in yarn shops in Australia, I have made this special mention & do not mean to exclude my knitting blogfriends from other parts of the world.

The socks look great - wish I could have attended your class - I'm a bit scared of trying toe-up socks! Must conquer my fear!

Very nice socks! That heel looks interesting. I think I will have to check that out.
Glad to hear that your sock class went so well. We must always recruit new knitters to the sock side!

How neat that you got to teach others how to knit socks! And your mock-cable ones are sooo pretty.

Glad the classes went well - you must be a great teacher if everyone got the hang of it!

Your Mock Wave Cable socks look especially nice in the Silkie STR. I like the striping and the pattern, it is a wonderful combination. Mine have a bit too much pooling, I appreciate seeing how nicely yours turned out.

Congratulations on teaching your first sock class, and for the success you've had with it! Wow, this is absolutely awesome! You know, I've been knitting so many socks by now, but I would never dare teaching a class how to knit them, I would show them everything totally wrong I'm afraid! So, kudos to you for doing that - and for doing it so well!
I really love the Mock Wave Cable Socks you've been doing, they look fantastic!
