Another Pair !

Another done for the SSS. I really, really really love knitting socks - they are so fast to knit & there are so many gorgeous patterns & so many different techniques .... I can't knit them all - I am sorry but all you will be reading about will be socks & more socks on my blog - it's boring but I just love it!

Anyway, these socks are gorgeous & they fitted so beautifully.

Pattern : Jeweled Step from Cat Bordhi's New Pathways to Knitting Socks
Yarn : Dream In Color (Beach Fog)
Needles : 2.5mm bamboo dpns

I have mentioned in my previous posts that the gusset increases & pattern are on each side of the leg ....

Cat Bordhi really did a great job in writing that book as the instructions & illustrations are very clear & easy to follow & her techniques are so interesting BUT it's not everyday sock knitting as I do like to remember the pattern so that I can knit anywhere.

I have cast on another pair - it's the Embossed Leaves Socks which everyone has knitted a pair & so must I. I have completed the toe & part of the leg ....

As I am knitting my sock toe-up & following the lace chart (which is for cuff down), I realised that I have reversed the pattern - does it look alright or should I reversed the lace chart - what do you think?

You have been knitting some beautiful socks from that book! Guess I have to go get it now!

I too am very tempted to get this book!

Your embossed leaves sock looks great. I think it is ok not reversing the pattern, the only thing is that the stem won't come out of the rib but I don't think that matters at all.

I am not sure, but if you like it then keep it!

I am just going to have to purchase that book because I have really enjoyed following your progress.

Hmmmm...not sure about the Embossed Leaves. It is still pretty but they may not look so much like leaves anymore. That may only because I've seen tons of these knit up the other way :-) But, like I said, they are very pretty this way, too!

Not boring at all. Even when I have no sock mojo, I still love looking at others' socks because they're so inspiring. Those are beautiful jeweled socks you've got there.

From here, the embosseed leaves look just fine.

I do need to look at my Cat Bordhi book more closely, your socks are incredible!!! I could not tell that you reversed the lace chart, plus I like how they look when they are on your feet. I look at my feet more than I realized, I think you will find your socks quite pleasing this way.

I absolutely love your jeweled step socks as you already know. I think it is the marriage of yarn, colour and design that makes these very special. Cat is certainly very clever and I can't wait to knit one of her sock designs.

The embossed leaves socks looked fine to me yesterday, but if you wanted it to look the same as the traditional pattern then you will have to reverse the chart, but I think these will look just as good giving you a great looking sock anyway.

Keep sock knitting

Great Cat socks. I still haven't gotten that pattern. My LYS is waiting for the 2nd printing.

I like the EL socks. Its a shame, though, that you couldn't reverse the toe instructions, too. The toe is one of my favorite things about that pattern. But I think that the leaves look fine!

Just call the EL socks your "climbing vine" socks, and no one will know! I won't tell.

Socks are never boring! And Cat's new book is amazing! I love the way she thinks and helps me to also;) My FO list looks like a baby next to yours! I think the vines look great, it gives you something nice to see!

Wow, they look absolutely beautiful - the colorway as well as the pattern! Once more a really great job! And yep, I agree with Carol here: Socks are never boring indeed!

I can never get enough of socks! You make beautiful ones too! I've neglected my Cat Bordhi sock book, but there's so much to do. I need to sleep less, so I can knit more! ;o)

I love the green socks - one of my favorite patterns so far on SSS.
