These are the Snap Dragon socks - a pattern from Wendy & knitted in the same yarn & color - Dream In Color Smooshy sock yarn in Cool Fire colorway BUT it's not a pair! Look at them carefully - the one on top is smaller!
This is what happened - I started knitting this sock in the medium size & the sock is for my dear friend, Helen. But after casting off the 1st sock, I thought that it look a little small especially the heel & so got Helen to try it on & she could not get the sock over the heel! I have knitted socks for Helen before & they were alright & now this happened! I think the lace pattern does not provide much stretch.
So I cast on another sock in the large size & again got Helen to try it on & THANK GOODNESS - it FITTED! Now I have to rip off the 1st sock & cast on for the 2nd sock in the RIGHT SIZE!
Anyway, this pattern is really nice & easy to remember & with the gorgeous & soft yarn makes the knitting a pleasure - I don't mind knitting the 3rd sock!

Ugh! I feel your pain. But you actually have a really good attitude about it. Good for you!
how annoying to have to knit it again - but yay for lovely yarn and easy to remember pattern! they look really great!
Man, it really is the summer of socks for you!!!!!
They look and I love the colour, one of my favs.
I have knit several "third" socks myself, it is worth it to have comfortable socks. That pattern looks like a lot of fun to knit and the yarn is very pretty.
It's so pretty but sadly not a pair. I'm sure you'll whip out the 2nd/3rd one in no time!
Been there, done that. Sorry you have to knit 3 socks to get a pair, but at least you like the pattern. That helps. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving the nice comments about Sydney and HKF. Enjoy the warm weather!
Oh bah humbug!! But the socks are delighful even if they are 'odd' sizes!! Helen is very lucky, even uneven they look great!!!
ooh...the socks are sooo gorgeous!! you are such a quick knitter!!! cant wait to try out that yarn myself!!!
LOVE the color... its pink .. of course :))
Oh how sad....but it sounds like you have a cheerful attitude about the third sock. It IS pretty!
Wow, how pretty. I didn't even notice one was smaller, but good thing you loved the pattern & yarn so much. Knitting up a third doesn't seem to bother you, which is great.
What a very beautiful pair of socks this is, and I *so* love the colourway! Fortunately you've enjoyed the pattern so much, this made re-knitting the sock a bit easier, didn't it? Very beautiful work!
