Not My Regular Knitting ....

Once again, I have to put all my projects aside on concentrate on getting these done - what are these? These are ....... baby socks !
My dear neighbour's daughter gave birth to her 2nd child - a boy. For her 1st child (a girl), I knitted a blanket & a hat & so I thought that socks will be just right for a boy.

These socks are so quick to knit & I enjoyed knitting them so much that I did 2 pairs .....

..... these are Lana Grossa cotton & I managed to almost match the stripes.

.... these are Zen Yarn Garden superwash merino, self striping too!

The socks are knitted from leftover sock yarn which was great to use some up. I just made up the pattern as I wanted to knit these socks from the toe up. So for those of you who are interested, they are really easy - for the toe, magic cast on 8 sts on each needle & then increase to 32 sts in total, knit for 25 rounds for the foot (7 cm), do a short row shaping for the heel (with 4 wraps on each side), knit another 16 rounds for the leg & then 12 rounds of rib (k2,p2) for the cuff, then cast off !

Now I am back to my regular knitting ......

I do love socks. I love the colours and the patterns. I love the fact there are two the same but not the same but I can only dream that I will make a pair.
