A Little Pretty Dress

Ever since I saw this pattern, I have been wanting to knit it but did not have a little girl to knit for ..... until one of my friends mentioned that her grand daughter is turning one soon. Well, that's a good enough excuse to knit this pretty dress ......
...... although it's for a one year old, I knitted the 2 year old size so that she will be able to wear it for a while.

The dress is knitted from sock yarn, the yoke is Dream In Color Smooshy & the body is Araucania Sock. I love the design of this dress which is knitted from the top down in one piece. When the required yoke size is reached, just cast off the sleeve stitches, join in the round & knit the body for as long as you want. Leave a couple of inches for the bottom band & that's it. It took me just a weekend to finish the dress.

The only problem that I had was the opening on the yoke. For finishing, I was supposed to crochet around the opening & make 2 loops for the buttons. I did not do a good crochet job as there is a gap at the top of the opening. Anyway, I still love the butterfly buttons .....
I hope the dress fits the little girl. I do wish my girls are little as I would love to knit more of these pretty dresses.

That is just so gorgeous. No wonder you needed a bay girl to wear it. I love the contrast hem and yoke. The butterfly buttons are so cute and it looks perfect!!

This dress is too cute! I love the colors and how they compliment each other so beautifully. I did not notice the crochet part, the buttons are a lovely accent. I see this little girl twirling around happily in her new dress :)
