If any of you have not heard or read about the Ravi KAL, please do so as Ravi is really addictive .........
It's a top down cardigan & the yoke is knitted as a stripe with short row shaping - finished 7 wedges & there's still 12 to go. I am using Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Sock yarn which is lovely & also my new Hiya Hiya bamboo needles. I love my new needles as they are really smooth & the cord does not twist as it has a swivel join. I just bought a set of interchangeables from Stranded In Oz & her service is excellent.
Sorry for the digression, back to Ravi. It's a KAL & clue 1 has just been released, so if you are interested, it's not too late to join.
I was glad to cast on a new project as I was not doing well with my Vitamin D which I have just ripped the 2nd time as I miscounted the stitches during the short row shaping. Now I have 2 cardigans on the needles & both of them involve short row shaping, one is just the normal w&t & Ravi uses Japanese short rows. By the time I finish these 2 cardigans, I will be a short row expert !
Before I go, let me share with you my recent heavenly acquisition ...... freshly spun alpaca yarn from a friend's farm.
She has 9 alpacas & they are sheared every year in summer. Recently, she had the fleece spun by a local spinning mill & I bought 5 balls for a vest. The alpaca yarn is so lovely & soft & there will be more in summer from these gorgeous fellas ......
Aren't they cute !

I love the bits of color in your Ravi, they pop so nicely against the garter stitch. It is a pretty cardigan. Those alpacas are adorable! I visited my friend Kate's farm once and got to me her alpacas and it was a wonderful experience. I look forward to seeing make with the yarn, it is beautiful.
I haven't seen the Ravi, it looks great and I love the co,our you have chosen.
How lovely to have alpacky from your friend's animals! They are gorgeous.
I've heard of the hiya hiya needles before but don't really know much about them. Do you prefer them over knit picks?
Anyway, love the colour of the yarn you've picked for the cardigan!! It's really nice :)
I haven't heard of Ravi either too!! But I don't think I'll be knitting any garments for myself anytime soon coz I've no idea whether I'll be able to keep my original size or not. Boo hoo!!!!
Yes, the alpacas are so cute and make such lovely wool.
I had not heard of the Ravi, it looks great and you are really into short rows!!
