Cast Off & Cast Off

Wow ! I am really getting into it - cast off 2 projects this week ! It's such a great feeling to see the finished work & to be able to cast on more projects.... so I am off to the book shelf in the search of new cast ons but before that, let me share with all of you my cast offs .... Yes, it's Noreen's Green Ribbed Cardigan - it looks great (love the frills & the collar) & as I have not sewed the buttons on (will let Noreen decide on the buttons), I have to use some pins just for this pic. I am sure Cindy will love the color of this cardi. The Jo Sharp Alpaca Kid that I used for this cardi is really gorgeous & knitted so well. I hope it will fit Noreen & if it does, I will take another pic & if it does not, sigh .....
Anyway, the other cast off is Helen's socks... it fits her perfectly as she tried on the 1st sock & didn't want to take it off as it was so comfortable. Decided to knit a lacy rib for the cuff & it really turned out well, so here they are ....
I really like the lacy rib cuff as it's pretty & adds a little pattern to an otherwise plain sock (sorry, the pic of the cuff close-up cannot be uploaded, tried so many times, can't understand why?). Thank you Wendy for this pattern.
Now for my new cast on - a pair of toe-up socks knitted in a 5-stitch pattern from the Sensational Knitted Socks book. The 5-stitch pattern that I chose is laburnum which looks like cables but it's not. This book is really great as it provides patterns for socks knitted from the top as well as from the toe. On top of that, there is a stitch dictionary which provides more variations. I am using yarn from Live 2 Knit - Elizabeth 4 ply Merino in Monet.
Will also be casting on a baby blanket for my neighbour's new grandchild due in November. I know it's 4 months before the baby comes, but better start early, just in case .... knitting the blanket in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in cream & the pattern is a combination of lace & aran which I have to work out the size.
Still on my needles is the Equine Vest (my private KAL with Cindy) knitting round & round on the rib (20cm in total). It's boring but I find it quite therapeutic as it's knitting without thinking. Enjoyed it so much that I found it hard to put down as I just wanted to go on & on & on & on ....
Well, looks like I will be busy for a while but of course still on the look-out for new cast on...

Ann, Norene's Green Ribbed Cardigan is fabulous? Could you share your pattern source? It didn't show up in a Google search.

And I *love* the Red Laburnums!
You are a busy girl! Keep up the great work!
