Christmas In January

That's right, Christmas arrived late for me as I was away - there were 2 parcels waiting for me when I got home & it was so exciting opening them .......

This is the 1st parcel from my dear blog friend, Cindy who so graciously made this sock tote in my favorite color. It was all wrapped up in a pretty doggie paper & a doggie card & a bar of homemade fudge (it was delicious). The sock tote is great especially taking sock knitting everywhere - it's so handy! Thanks a million Cindy.

The 2nd parcel is my first subscription to the Pick Up Sticks Sock Club - wow - a carry bag, a Go Knit pouch, Pony Pearls dpns (they are so smooth) & of course Posh Lucia yarn (a blend of 30% cashmere & 70% merino) & a specially designed pattern for the yarn....
The yarn is lovely but unfortunately not my color (too much green) - anyway, I will still knit it up & someone will be the lucky recipient.
It's really great to receive all these beautiful stuff & I can't wait for January's yarn & pattern to arrive - should be soon as I was told the parcel had been sent.....now it's to find time to knit up all these pretty socks as I am currently knitting a pair for my Mum & the Windershins is next & there's the other WIPs ......will do an update on my next post....

No worries, I'm glad you like it!!! This is definitely the time of year to be knitting socks, even if it's not the time for wearing them!!!
PS Nothing can be too green for me!!!
PPS I may post this twice because of technical difficulties with The Blogger!!!

hi ann! i was in the central park hoodie KAL (and completed my hoodie with sleeves in plymouth galway wool) - i loved your vest version, and was wondering about how much yarn (in yds/meters) you needed for it? i'd like to make a vest version, possibly without a hood, and want to use a really nice tweed, since i'll need less of it without the sleeves. in order to save $, could you let me know how much yarn you used? many thanks!! ~gabriella

Yay! More presents! The thing that I'm finding out about sock clubs that is fun is that the yarn received may not be yarn that you would purchase but it's fun to branch out in colors that you normally wouldn't use. Have fun!
