WIP = FO

That's not a mathematical formula - it's another WIP off the needle & it's the Zig Zag Rib Vest ....

Pattern : Jo Sharp Knit 3 (the vest featured on the cover)
Yarn : Jo Sharp Alpaca Kid Lustre in Brew

I just love the zig zag rib pattern on the band ! As usual, I knitted the vest in the round so had to make some amendments to the zig zag pattern & I also changed the casting off of the neckband & armbands - like the rolled up effect of stocking stitch so knitted 2 rows of stocking stitch before casting off. Here's a close-up look of the band ....

Isn't the band pretty? The only feature that I don't quite like in this pattern is the change of a bigger needle after knitting the band & thus creating a baggy body - thank goodness, I use 3.5mm instead of 3.25mm ( as stated in pattern) for the band & then changed to a 4mm for the body so that the band is not so tight.

So, I have finished off all the garment WIPs & left with 3 socks in progress .... this has left me feeling quite empty although I am still knitting socks everyday which I love but something is missing .... what to do next ???? I want to take a break from knitting another garment although I have been swatching for this - the Bonsai Tunic - which I am thinking of knitting with a 4ply merino instead of the 8ply recommended but ..... actually I do want to start another lace project so have been thinking of these :

  • Sea & Shells Stole (simple & rectangular - I have not knitted this shape before)
  • Melon Scarf (again rectangular but I am worried about the border as it looks complicated)
  • Fir Cone Shawl (really pretty but it's triangular & I have just done the Swallowtail)

So my dear knitty friends, what do you think - help me decide, please so I can start casting on & get busy again & not feel lost & empty.....

Ooh it looks fantastic Ann! Good job! Geez, you're needles have been on FIRE lately! =D I've been considering knitting this lovely vest but have TOO MANY other things on my needles I need to get done! As for the lace decision, I love the rectangular one from Victorian Lace Today - you'll be able to do the border! You're such an excellent knitter!! xo

Snap!! We have both finished our vests!! Yours looks beautiful and warm too. I agree about the ribbing too. I can't choose what you should do next, though I like the Lace one. If you are a good border sewer-onner it will be fine!! I have started a lacy scarf. It is Coincidence Saturday!!

What beautiful ribbing on your Zig Zag Rib vest! I appreciate the upclose detailed picture, it is a pretty sweater.

I vote for the Melon Scarf, it looks quicker than Sea & Shells stole and the edging might be easier than you think. Please keep us posted!

I like the rectangular ones. Can throw them over a coat or jacket and get double duty from them as a generous scarf.

Thenks for stopping by my blog yesterday. Enjoy your girls. Blink and they're gone.

Blessings!
