.... but I did cast off the Waving Lace Socks which have been on the needles since March. This is the 1st time that I took so long to knit a pair of socks but things were not right from the beginning -
- I didn't like the yarn, Fleece Artist Merino, which was a little hard on the fingers but the colors are gorgeous (Amethyst)
- The 1st pattern that I chose was not going right as there were big holes after each cable & I just could not do anything to avoid that
- The 2nd pattern did not start out right as the YO (in the 2nd half of the pattern) made after a purl st looks bigger than the other YO (after a knit st), so I had to experiment & try a few techniques - finally was happy with not making a YO but picking up the horizontal st on the next row
- The needles size was not right & the sts look loose & so had to go down a size to 2.25mm & then broke 1 dpn & had to wait a while for a new set
Anyway, I am glad that's all in the past & the socks are done - they look alright & fitted perfectly but not as soft as the other socks that I have made. Here they are...... It's a lovely pair of socks & I will wear them as I do like the Waving Lace pattern & they do look good on my feet....
