A New Toy

My new toy & it's awesome - I showed my dear neighbor, John, a picture (that I printed from an online store) of this yarn winder & he made me one. John is great with wood work & he is always busy in his garage building this & that & his latest work is a wooden toy truck for his grandson & of course, my yarn winder.
I am so excited with this new toy & immediately put on a skein & wind it up - it was great fun & the winder moves so smoothly & setting it up was so easy ....... 2 balls of yarn freshly wound - the yarn winder did a great job. Love the color of this yarn - it's our very own collection, Australian Wildflowers, which is dyed by the creative Roxanne of Zen Garden. Helen & I ordered 60 skeins of yarn for our online store & we decided to use the Australian Wildflowers as our color theme & Roxanne did a fantastic job ....

..... Merino Bamboo

Merino Seawool ......
The colors are gorgeous & you can see more of them in this album. We will be putting them up for sale soon so if you are interested, check our store or let me know.
By the way, the colorway of the yarn that I just wound up is Mottlecah - gorgeous - I am going to cast on a pair of socks now!

That swift is fabulous! I love the fact that you can adjust it to fit the skein by moving the pegs - so cool!

And that yarn - gorgeous! Just fabulous!

Congratulations on your shop, what beautiful yarns you have!!! Will your neighbor perhaps be getting some handknit socks after crafting that fabulous swift? I am amazed at his talent.

What a lovely swift! I have one somewhat similar that DH made me from online instructions. I think the design is far better than an umbrella swift, and there is no need to clamp to a table.

Oh what a fabulous swift and I'm sure in time he will be rewarded with a lovely pair of your hand knitted socks.

Well, John sounds like a VERY NICE guy! A swift makes the winding go ever so fast, too.
