The Last & The First

My LAST FO for 2007 which I casted off on Dec 28 ....

.... they are the Snapdragon socks in Dream in Color Smooshy (Cool Fire), a pattern purchased from the Loopy Ewe. I actually knitted 3 socks as the 1st sock was too small & there is a little yarn leftover - it's amazing how much yarn there was in a skein & it's so soft. I am so in love this yarn & I am sure I will be using more. Anyway, here are the 3 Snapdragons ......

And my FIRST FO for 2008 .....

.... the Fiery Bolero from Interweave Summer 2005 - it is an interesting knit as it's all done in 1 piece but unfortunately it doesn't fit well - the sleeves are too long & the back collar doesn't sit well & you can see that the colors pooled on the sleeves. Anyway, I still enjoy knitting this & it was quick (2 weeks). On top of that, it costs me only $7 for the yarn from Spotlight !

Now I am knitting away on my Toe-Up Monkey socks & it's gorgeous - love the pattern, the yarn & the colors ....

I can't believe another year has passed as I have enjoyed myself so much - now I sit back & look at all my FOs for the year ....

  • 18 pairs of socks
  • 2 cardigans
  • 2 vests
  • 2 bags
  • 1 scarf
  • 1 pair of mittens
  • 1 beret
  • 1 baby cardigan
  • 1 lace shawl

..... here's to 2008 & to many more FOs !

All your Snapdragons are lovely, the wool does look really squooshy and the pattern is really great!!
Bit boogelly about the pooling, I like pooling, but it looks out of place here. Wow, you knitted so many things last year!! Fantastic!!
Nice MOnkeys, Monkeys are always great.

You DID get quite a bit of knitting accomplished in 2007! But, I noticed two cardigans on your list which surprised me since you have the 'I'm Not a Sweater Knitter' button on your sidebar. Hmmmm...maybe I better go check out that button....

I am in awe of your knitting. Already a finished object for the year? Do you realize we're only up to the 6th day of the year?!?!?! Yikes. I really adore those top socks.

Great socks. It's a shame the bolero doesn't fit well, it looks really nice. I knit a pair of monkey socks for myself (top-down) and love them.
Here's to a happy 2008 with lots of FO's.

Shame about the bolero, but the socks look great. I've just finished my first monkey too!

Your Snap Dragon socks are sooo pretty! Your Fiery Bolero is nice, too, I'm sorry the fit isn't quite right. I have been there and know how frustrating that can be. Your Monkey sock pattern works beautifully with the yarn. You certainly accomplished a lot in 2007, I think you will knit even more in 2008!

Your snapdragons are beautiful! Love the yarn! I am making Monkey's too...top down and I am finding they are too tight for me. But I plan to make some toe-up and those will definitely be mine. :)
