"This triangular shawl draws its inspiration from light in its many forms. From a clear, starlit night to the dancing flames of a warming fire. Silvery moonlight and golden flames."
Who could resist such a temptation? I couldn't so I joined the Mystic Light KAL. This is the 1st time that I joined a KAL where I don't know what I will be knitting except that it's a triangular shawl. The pattern will be released in 5 parts on every Wednesday starting on March 26. I received the 1st part of the pattern & could only cast on March 30 ...
.... such an unusual pattern with a cable border which is knitted in as you go along & a center braid - it's gorgeous & it's knitting up really fast as I am using a 5mm needle. And the yarn is also lovely - Dream In Color Smooshy in Deep Seaflower colorway. The designer of this shawl recommended that sock yarn & not lace yarn be used so that the cables can be more prominent. I think it's a great idea & I do love the cable border.
I still have 20 rows to go & Part 1 will be complete & I can't wait for this Wednesday to receive Part 2 - this is so exciting ....

oh goodness. Isn't that beautiful. A breathtaking blue! It suits the pattern really well.
I've never done any kind of KAL. I do like the idea of a msytery kal though, very exciting. I'll look forward to seeing your progress :)
This sounds like so much fun! Someday I would love to try a KAL like this. How fun to keep guessing what it's going to look like. Gorgoeous shade of blue.
Wow--that is really beautiful...the color chose and the pattern I see so far! One day I'd like to do this kind of KAL--just need to wait until I have some more flexibility with my time!
So pretty! Love the color!! Makes me want to pull out my Jeanie shawl again!
I am holding off on starting mine. I was a bit disappointed with the last mystery knit along I did, so I want to get an idea of the finished product before I get into it. So far though, I'm liking it.
