It's Now A FO !

YES ! I have lengthened the sleeves of my February Lady Sweater & it looks great.....
.... one of the ladies in my knitting circle volunteered as a model & it looked great on her. In fact, she likes it so much, she is also going to knit it.

I am so glad that the sleeves were knitted from the top down as frogging it was so easy - just frogged the garter stitch band, picked up the stitches & start knitting ! I added 10cm more to the sleeves & before I started the garter stitch band, I decreased 7 stitches (1 pattern repeat) so that the band is not bell shaped & more in line with the lace pattern. I am so happy with the modification & I love this sweater!

I also want to share with all of you, the lovely scarf that Helen knitted for me .....

...... it's Gust which is knitted with Zen Yarn Garden's cashmere/silk - it's so soft & light & so warm around the neck & of course, Helen did a perfect job ! Thanks so much Helen for this wonderful present !

As I have made a promise not to cast on a new project until I have finished some of my WIPs, I have also made another promise - to be true to 1 WIP (with the exception of socks) at a time ! I think this will help finish off the WIPs faster if I concentrate on just one at a time.

So, I picked up the Pi Shawl which has been left alone for the past few months & started knitting ...

..... the shawl is growing slowly every day as it takes me 20 - 30 minutes to finish one round of 288 stitches. The knitting is also slow as I am using a 2 ply pure silk which is so smooth that handling it is quite difficult. I managed to finish the 45 rounds & last night did the final increase to 576 stitches ...
...... & now I have another 41 rounds to go before I can start on the border. This time, 1 round takes 45 mins - that's 30.8 hours more & I can't imagine how long it will take to knit the border !

The sweater looks awesome, and so does the scarf. Wow, I am amazed at anyone who can do fine lace work like that. Very pretty!!

Oh God. It is slow isn't it? Especially since you're doing the actual pattern and not just the eyelets like I'm doing on my lace pi. It's a good thing these things are so beautiful or we'd never bother, huh?
