So Sorry For My Absence .....

..... I felt like I have dropped out of this world - knitting world - as I have not been reading blogs & posting & even knitting less that I usually do - it's a terrible feeling & I want to be back again .... I know I can in 3 weeks ...... I am not sick but I have been WORKING - yes, a paid job !

It started 3 weeks ago when a friend asked me to fill her position in the high school canteen as she had a week of jury duty - it's the same high school that my daughter goes to & I have volunteered regularly there. So why not, as I will be paid . While a week turned into 2... 3.... & this is my 4th week. I think I will be working till the end of term - another 3 weeks ....... so if you don't hear from me, don't worry as I am fine but tired!

Anyway, I did managed to block the Pi Shawl & I spent 2.5 hours on my knees pinning all the edges !
I can't believe how big the shawl is & I ran out of space on the queen size mattress protector that I used ....

Pattern : Pi Shawl from EZ's Knitter's Almanac

Yarn : Colormart 2ply silk (knitted yarn double)

Needles : KP 4.5mm circular

Blocked Size : 70" diameter

It was really difficult to photograph the shawl & I tried hanging in on the clothes line ........

..... on the lawn

..... on a patio chair

..... on my 6-seater patio table

..... and even got my husband to wear it

Well, I think I have done my best in the photography & covered all angles & I leave you this last look .....

Oh my. It's just stunning. Well done. It's so freaking huge! I'm stunned. I can so see why it was hard to photograph it. But wow!

How much do you think it grew between finishing it and blocking it? I ask because I'm about 20 rows into the 576 section and it doesn't look enormous, but then it might grow a lot....curious about yours.

Wow, I can't believe how big that looks, and so beautiful. I would be so proud of myself if I could accomplish something like that. Well done you. Hope you enjoy the job for a few more weeks.
