I originally designed these mittens for our knitting retreat this year to introduce participants at the retreat to the technique of adding beads on a project. These mittens are easy to knit as the diamond motif in the center is a simple pattern.
I then entered the mittens in Perth Royal Show in October & won 2nd prize in the Gloves section.
To welcome in the New Year, these mittens are on a special price of US$2 and I have also put my shawl patterns on sale at a 20% discount.

Happy New Year Ann. How wonderful that they won a prize. I think they look gorgeous, and as I have never tried beading in my knitting they might just get tried out next year!
I was just reading about Bells' mission to knit beaded things and here are your lovely mittens!! I think they deserved First Prize.
You are an amazing designer! Will one of your 2012 goals be to submit one of your originals to Knitty? I sure hope so!
These are really nice...and maybe they would be a good, gentle project to welcome me into the world of bead knitting? ;) I'm not a huge fan of a lot of projects with bead I like the addition here...such a beautiful yet subtle design element!
