1...Then 2...And Now 3....

It started with a scarf for my neighbor & then I received a call from my niece in Singapore who wanted a cotton beanie for her baby & then I remember that a friend's birthday is a week away & she wanted a felted bag ...... so for the last few weeks, I have been knitting away like crazy - not 1 gift but 3 !
The beanie was a bit of a trial & error as I wanted to use 4 ply cotton which will be suitable for the hot weather in Singapore. I could not find any suitable pattern & therefore had to improvise - the 1st beanie was too small & the 2nd was alright .....

..... I used Lana Grossa sock yarn with 2.75mm dpns & cast on 120 stitches - can you imagine knitting 120 stitches on tiny dpns - it just seem to go on forever & growing very slowly .... but I did it, send the beanie to Singapore & just heard that it fits! Thank goodness.

Now gift #3 - the felted bag. I actually did one little felted bag sometime ago but I think my friend will like a bigger bag & maybe one that she can carry around. So I did some modifications & came up with this .....

.... it's much bigger than the 1st one I did - after felting, the height is 22cm & the body circumference is 63cm. I used Cleakheaton Vintage Hues which again felted beautifully !

..... I just increase the number of stitches on the base & the body & I made 2 handles instead of 1. The bag turned out great - the size is right & the 2 handles really add to the finishing. I was so pleased & hope she will like it.

I also added a little packet of various chocolate blocks in the bag & was just in time for the birthday - she loves it !
Now that gifts 1, 2 & 3 are done, I am back to regular knitting & I have a FO to post next .....

The bag looks really beautiful! I didn't realise that Vintage Hues would felt so well. I think I have a few balls somewhere...

I really like your felted bag! It is lovely. Will you be selling the pattern on your blog or through Ravelry?
